Elections to the Council, July 2015

It’s that time again!

The six month Council term is coming to an end and we need to vote in a new Council to take us to the end of 2015.

The election will be much like last time, but the current Council have identified a few improvements we could make to the structure of the Council, so we’ve rewritten some of the roles and responsibilities for the next Council term, and, excitingly, introduced a new Junior Officer role.

NEW COUNCIL STRUCTURE
7 Council members
5 Junior Officers
For the Council we’re looking for 2 Leaders and 5 Senior Officers, or 1 Leader and 6 Senior Officers. These numbers depend on how many candidates stand for the role of Leader.

The requirements and duties for Leaders and Senior Officers are almost identical, though we’ve included some new items to reflect changes that have come up over the past Council.

The Junior Officer role comes as a response to the success of the Temporary Officers who volunteered their support during the Coursera class. It’s been really helpful having more Officers available to invite new members into the kin and help out at events, mentor new players and so on. We’ve created a role to allow kinnies to do this without having to commit to a full Council role.

TIMELINE
Nominations open 6th July
Nominee eligibility check is open until 10th July
Nominations close 12th July
Voting takes place from 13th to 19th July
Results announced 20th July
Inauguration of the new Council 25th July

Roles: We’ve created a guide for you to check that you fulfill all requirements and detailing the requirements and duties of each role. Read the Council Roles document.
How to apply: We’ll have a nomination form available once the nomination period begins.
Eligibility: We’ll ask you to contact Guivien or Saedhillian in advance of putting your name forward so that we can confirm that you fulfill all requirements. You can do that via the website, in-game or email to officers@eaglesofthorondor.com.
