It is election time!
We hold elections every 6 months for leadership positions. We need your expertise, enthusiasm and ideas to help our wonderful kinship continue to thrive and grow. A six-month term is a fun and rewarding experience. If you would like to be an officer, let us know!
Your vote counts! Nomination does not guarantee an officer badge. Nominees must win the approval of at least 50% of total voters in each election. So, as an example, if thirty Eagles vote, the candidate must win at least 15 votes to get a place on the officer team. This means a candidate is running for their kinnies’ approval, rather than against each other. Also, votes are completely confidential and anonymous. So, please vote and please encourage others to do so, too!
The schedule for elections is as follows:
Friday, July 2: Nominations open. Nominate yourself or someone else!
Friday, July 16: Voting opens – nominees need 50% of cast ballots to be elected
Thursday, July 29: Polls close
Saturday July 31: Inauguration Party at the kinship party houseCampaigning can start on Friday, July 2 and continue throughout the voting period.
To nominate yourself, add your name and campaign spiel to the nomination forum post (not here!). To see if you’re eligible to run for an open position, see the following post. If you are nominated by someone else, you may decline that nomination.
The schedule milestones will be added to the calendar. And we will keep you updated via the forum and kin mail at each stage.

If you’re thinking of standing for one of the positions then you’ll need to know what the roles involve. Here’s the info!
Officers – Must have been in the Eagles 3 months prior to the first day of the new term
• Help out/mentor kinnies when you can
• Run at least 1 event per month
• Use Discord and Gmail (for calendar and other tools)
• Attend monthly officer meeting
• Help maintain kinship chests
• Foster feelings of friendship, harmony, and fun among all members
As an international kinship, our goal is to have at least one officer in each time zone. However, we know that depends on who decides to run. If you are active and from a non-Western Hemisphere time zone, please consider running.Council Officers – Must have been an officer in the last year
⦁ Participate in policy-making and decisions about the kinship’s direction
⦁ Support the Leader when requested
⦁ Support other officers in their official activities
⦁ Recruit new kinnies
⦁ All officer duties
If there is no kin leader during a term, then council officers share the leadership duties, and fill the kin leader role on a rotation basis.Leader – Must have been a Council Officer in the last year
⦁ Responsible for direction and viability of the kinship
⦁ Encourage discussions regarding proposals for the kinship
⦁ Encourage and mentor officers
⦁ Assign specific duties to other officers
⦁ Run the monthly officer meeting
