It is my privilege to nominate IronQuill, Baturalp, and Salnir to run for council officers. They have been reliable and enthusiastic officers. They are cheery, welcoming, and helpful in game, and have run a lot of kin events over the last term. They are prepared to step in as a team of council officers should no-one run for leader this term. Hoorah for Ironquill, Baturalp, and Salnir!

If you’re thinking of standing for one of the positions then you’ll need to know what the roles involve. Here’s the info!

Officers – Must have been in the Eagles 3 months prior to the first day of the new term
      • Help out/mentor kinnies when you can
      • Run at least 1 event per month
      • Use Discord and Gmail (for calendar and other tools)
      • Attend monthly officer meeting
      • Help maintain kinship chests
      • Foster feelings of friendship, harmony, and fun among all members
As an international kinship, our goal is to have at least one officer in each time zone. However, we know that depends on who decides to run. If you are active and from a non-Western Hemisphere time zone, please consider running.

Council Officers – Must have been an officer in the last year
⦁ Participate in policy-making and decisions about the kinship’s direction
⦁ Support the Leader when requested
⦁ Support other officers in their official activities
      ⦁ Recruit new kinnies
      ⦁ All officer duties
If there is no kin leader during a term, then council officers share the leadership duties, and fill the kin leader role on a rotation basis.

Leader – Must have been a Council Officer in the last year
⦁ Responsible for direction and viability of the kinship
⦁ Encourage discussions regarding proposals for the kinship
      ⦁ Encourage and mentor officers
⦁ Assign specific duties to other officers
⦁ Run the monthly officer meeting
⦁ Establish and lead the election cycle
      ⦁ All Council Officer Duties

Any questions? Contact one of the officers in game or in Discord or leave a question here!

I would like to nominate myself for Leader. I think this kin is really special and makes a great home for all kinds of gentlefolk of Middle-Earth. I am committed to another 6 months of supporting the kin and encouraging new officers. I will be running events and doing festivals and questing, doing my best to help our kinmembers to enjoy their Lotro time.

      Best regards,
      Bregeniuk

Thanks for the offer, Sly! Without being able to run events, you don’t meet our officer requirements, but we’d love to have you helping out with other admin-type tasks! I’ll chat with you in-game to see what we can arrange.

Also, I must clarify that we do not have a 3-officer limit. We would love to have more than three officers, so we need more folks to step up and take a 6-month term. I’m looking forward to seeing who we will have running for officer in the election kicking off now!

Thanks for this Sere. Epic Battles are fun and give great jewellery for your level until you get top-tier level. I am happy to help whenever I can and have a few holes on a few characters. The one I need on all characters is the 12-man raid. I look forward to having enough folks ready to do that one and get all those extra points!!

If you’re thinking of standing for one of the positions then you’ll need to know what the roles involve. Here’s the info!

The Leader and all Officers are expected to abide by, respect, and embody the code of conduct as a bare minimum. Beyond that, they are expected to represent the kin well, responsibly, and respectfully at all times because they are the public face of the kinship.
One of the strengths of the Eagles is how all the officers work in support of each other as a team. Serving as an officer is a rewarding experience, and your participation makes our kinship stronger. Please do not hesitate to contact us for more information.

      Leader
Per SSG’s rules, a kin leader is the sole person with the power to promote/demote members to officers, and to disband the kinship (No, never!). Leadership of the Eagles includes all the responsibilities of Council Officers, plus:
⦁ Must have been an Officer of the Eagles in the last year
⦁ Works to create and/or maintain an alliance/strategic partnerships with other kinships
⦁ Takes charge of leading and encouraging discussions regarding proposals for the kinship as needed and may perform or assign other duties as well, including leading organization for the next election.

      Council Officers
Council officers have all the duties of regular officers, plus supporting the leader in decision-making as well as maintaining and improving the health of the kinship. Being a council officer isn’t just about agreeing to perform a specific duty and doing it well; it’s about demonstrating initiative in taking care of the health of the kin, and about demonstrating solid judgment in doing so.
If there is no kin leader during a term, then council officers share the leadership duties, and fill the kin leader role on a rotation basis.
⦁ Must have been an officer in the Eagles in the last year.
⦁ Provide a point of contact for kinnies/officers wishing to run events; keep the event calendar updated and let people know if there is a conflict with proposed dates.
⦁ Must maintain an officer gmail account, as well as a Discord account, and check them regularly

      Officers
      • Must have been in the Eagles at least 3 months.
      • Help out kinnies in the game as you can, such as answering questions, helping on a quest, and so on.
      • Participate in group activities regularly.
      • Join and use Discord, and check for officer messages/conversations on a regular basis.
      • Update MOTD with the next upcoming event + freebie of the week.
      • Know the Eagles Code of Conduct and coach other players as needed.

Other duties that require support from elected officers:
      • Lead, or assist with leading, scheduled kin and/or ally events, such as a social gathering, deed run, instance, or any other fun group activity for kin members. Kin events are opportunities to get to know your kinmates better, finish quests or deeds, learn game mechanics, and learn your class better. But someone needs to lead them! Do you want help learning how to lead? We can help you!
      • Help maintain the Kinship House Chest. We have generous kinmates that like to offer their unused items to other kin members that can use them, but it needs an overseer to sort donations, sell overflow, etc.
      • Help recruit new players to the kinship and keep the alts tracker (Google Sheets) updated
      • Promote new recruits to full members and keep the alts tracker (Google Sheets) updated
      • Publish the Welcome to New Kinnies mail on a regular basis
As an international kinship, our goal is to have at least one officer in each time zone. However, we know that depends on who decides to run. If you are active and from a non-Western Hemisphere time zone, please consider running.

Oh, nice picture, Dera. That’s interesting, alright. I keep trying to change the camera angle of your picture to see what does and does not disappear when I do that. :-)

Thank you for the nomination! I have been a council officer for several terms now, and I would like to put my name forward for the leader position for the Eagles of Thorondor. As leader, I will continue to work behind the scenes to maintain the high calibre of how this kinship is run, and continue to strive to provide a variety of fun or challenging events for our membership to participate in. Thanks, and I look forward to seeing you in game!

It is my privilege, with Salnir’s permission, to change this to be a nomination for Council Officer. Salnir has been a solid and steady support to the officer team and will make a great council officer.

I would like to accept Sly’s nomination for the position of Leader. My goal is to continue to encourage and mentor new and returning officers and to foster an environment of respect and empowerment. The friendly and helpful core values of our kinship are at the centre of what we do and are alive and well within the kin.

I continue to be so impressed with the work that our founders did in setting up this kinship, it’s code of conduct, leadership structure, and website. I strive to be a worthy caretaker and steward of this group and its members, as we continue to evolve generation after generation.

I would like to accept the nomination for Leader.

I am honoured to represent a kin that houses nice, helpful, funny, thoughtful people that like to enjoy the Lord of the Rings together. I am happy to continue into a second term as leader in order to keep the kinship in good health. A healthy kinship includes a group of officers to share the load so that no-one has an onerous amount of work. The leader and officers officially represent the kin and to keep up with the maintenance of behind-the-scenes tasks. A healthy kin also has new recruits to keep the kin active as other players move on. The officers and leader help maintain good kin chat etiquette, enforce the kinship code of conduct, and deal with any issues that may arise. The officer team has often enjoyed getting to know each other better, have moral support, and bounce ideas off of each other. These are the things I would strive to support as leader of this fantastic kinship!! We have also asked the officers to be leaders in leading events for the kinship (though anyone in our kinship can lead an event!). I would lead by example by leading a variety of different events at different levels to provide fun ways to connect with your fellow kinnies. If you have ideas on how to improve our lovely kinship, please seek me out and let me know!
